Improve Coordination, Comprehension & Communication in Less Than 2 Minutes

Do you ever feel a little fuzzy? Like your thoughts and words aren't really lining up just so or that new physical activity isn't coming as easily as you'd like? 

If you want to communicate more clearly and be more physically coordinated for any task, this is the technique for you!

This Brain Gym technique, called The Cross Crawl, is so incredibly simple, but makes a huge difference. In just moments both sides of your brain and body will be more alert which will, in turn, improve coordination, comprehension and communication. 

How Does It Work?

The right side of our brain controls the left side of the body and vice versa. The simple movement of the cross crawl activates the corpus callosum, the bundle of neural fibers that connect the right and left hemispheres of the brain. In doing so it opens up communication between the hemispheres, allowing the brain to easier navigate both the big picture and details. 

This communication between the right and left sides of the brain is vital for successful reading, writing, speaking and so much more! 

Additionally, the movement stretches and balances the hips, supporting and enhancing overall structural integrity of the body. 

We Could All Crawl More

Crawling is a natural part of our development, but often parents and kids are eager to jump ahead to walking. Walking, clearly, is fantastic, but in all honesty, we could benefit from crawling more. 

The Cross Crawl creates this motion standing, but I highly recommend crawling games for kids of any age, because the same principles of cross-lateral integration apply. 

To Do The Cross Crawl

  1. Bring one leg and opposite arm together. 
  2. Then bring the other leg and its opposite arm together.
  3. Repeat rhythmically for about one minute.
