From Unvaccinated to Vaccinated: My Reckoning with The Wellness World

While I deeply appreciate growing up with alternative approaches to healing, I also owe my life to doctors.

At 5 months old I was helicoptered to Denver because my organs were failing and I was going into septic shock. I had contracted bacterial spinal meningitis and it took 4 days for me to stabilize and another week before I was released from the hospital - only to then go home with a new set of challenges to overcome.

My story was always told as a win for alternative healing, but in 2020 I realized that had I been vaccinated as a child, my life might have looked a whole lot different.

I now hold medical science and wellness practices with a balanced perspective, whereas during my childhood I was told to distrust the doctors who saved my life

Cracks in the Wellness World

Recently I created a series of videos on Instagram which I called "Cracks in the Wellness World", where I share my experience of the harm in the wellness industry and how I now advocate for a community-centered approach to wellness that includes the benefits of medical science, and I hope you’ll take a look.
